All travellers must hold a valid passport or national ID card.

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date.

Bulgaria is not part of the Schengen Area — a separate Bulgarian entry stamp may be required depending on your nationality.

Travel insurance including ski cover is strongly recommended for all guests.

Your policy should cover: ski accidents, medical evacuation, trip cancellation, and lost/stolen equipment.

We are unable to assist guests who do not hold adequate insurance.

EU/EEA and UK nationals do not require a visa to enter Bulgaria.

Guests from other countries should check entry requirements with their local Bulgarian embassy well in advance of travel.

Bulgaria uses the Bulgarian Lev (BGN).

ATMs are widely available in Bansko town centre. Most restaurants and shops accept card payments.

Exchange rates are generally favourable — we recommend exchanging at local bureaux rather than airports.

Sofia Airport (SOF) — approximately 1 h 45 min by road. This is the main gateway and has the most flight options.

Plovdiv Airport (PDV) — approximately 1 h 30 min by road. Smaller airport with seasonal routes.

Return airport transfers from Sofia Airport are included in your package.

Transfer times and pick-up details will be shared closer to the trip date. Please ensure your flight details are submitted in your dashboard by 1st February 2027.

Late submissions may result in missed transfers — do not leave this until the last minute.

Bansko is approximately 1 h 45 min south of Sofia via the A3 motorway and Route 84.

Winter tyres or snow chains are required by Bulgarian law from November to March.

Parking in central Bansko is limited — your hotel will advise on available options.

The free Bansko gondola departs from the gondola station at the edge of town and runs to the ski area (approx. 20 min ride).

Taxis are inexpensive and widely available — agree a fare before departing.

Most venues on the Trakia Trips itinerary are within easy walking distance of the main hotel.

Check-in: from 15:00 on arrival day

Check-out: by 11:00 on departure day

Early check-in and late check-out can be requested but are subject to availability and may incur an additional charge.

All packages include accommodation in a 4-star hotel in central Bansko with full access to the spa, sauna and indoor pool.

Rooms are allocated on a twin-share basis by default. Upgrades to double or single occupancy are available at an additional cost — contact us to arrange.

All rooms include: en-suite bathroom, daily housekeeping, complimentary toiletries, flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi, safe, and mini-fridge.

Breakfast is served daily in the hotel restaurant from 07:30 – 10:00.

Any damage to hotel property will be charged to the guest. Guests causing excessive disturbance may be asked to vacate without refund.

Bansko is Bulgaria's premier ski resort, with 75 km of marked pistes ranging from gentle beginner runs to challenging black diamonds.

Summit altitude: 2,560 m — Snow season typically runs December to April.

The gondola from town takes approximately 20 minutes and runs from 08:30 to 16:30 daily.

Equipment hire is available as an add-on to your package (skis + boots + poles, or snowboard + boots). All hire packages are with reputable local rental shops in central Bansko.

Please indicate your shoe size and height in your booking dashboard before arrival so equipment can be pre-arranged.

Helmets are available as a separate add-on.

Group and private ski/snowboard lessons are available through the resort's ESF-accredited ski school.

Lessons can be booked independently on arrival — we recommend doing so on your first morning as popular time slots fill quickly.

An off-road ATV (quad bike) excursion through the Pirin mountain terrain is available as an optional add-on.

Duration: approximately 2 hours. No experience required — a brief safety orientation is provided on-site.

Minimum age: 18. Helmets and protective gear provided.
